WWJD

WWJD

"The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: Pride and arrogance and the evil way, and the perverse mount I hate." (Proverbs 8:13)

Remember when t-shirts had printed on them the letters "WWJD" (What would Jesus do?)

The world is full of evil, pride and arrogance. So much selfishness is shown today. When I think of ("what Jesus would do"), in many situations in my life, He would want me to get rid of a selfish arrogant spirit, and focus on the needs of others.

During the almost 50 years of pastoral ministry, I have been hurt by people. I could have taken on a very selfish - get even type of attitude. But is this what Jesus would do? Is this what He would have me to do? No, it is isn't. He would want me to humble myself, and show love and concern in the face of hurt and opposition.

As Christians, the more we grow to love the Lord, the more we will fear Him, and grow to hate the evil way of things.

No matter what negative situations we are in, we are called to show the love of Christ. We are to love others, as He loved, and still loves us, with a faithful steadfast love. Is this an easy thing to do? No, but it is an essential thing to do. It is without a doubt "What Jesus Would Do!" GP
