Why Make It Complicated?

"The Lord Preserves the simple. I was brought low, and He saved me." 
(Psalm 116:6) 

I am not one for big words. I will be reading a book, and come across a word I don't know the meaning of; and I will say to myself. "Sometime I will get the dictionary out, and look up the definition."

It is true, I am a simple minded person. Is that so bad? For me, I am, what I am. But I do question, why those who are giants, in Christian preaching and teaching, use big words, and talk over people's heads, in interpreting Scripture, and explaining the principles of God's Word.

 I don't believe that the Bible is hard to understand, but hard to live by. Why? Because, we have a very tough time submitting to it. We have a choice to make, every time we come across a Biblical principle to live by. Are we going to submit to it, and work it out in our daily living? Or are we going to put it aside, and just do what we feel is right?

I watched a father and his young daughter prepare to leave a store.
He told her, to "take his hand", and she immediately placed her had in his, as they departed. I believe that God made the Bible simple enough, that in obtaining salvation, wisdom, encouragement, strength, and hope, all we have to do is put our hand in His, and receive the truth He gives.

God's Word is not complicated to me (and I am a simple person) so why make it complicated. Let's accept the simple truth, and help others to have the simple blessings, that God's Word leads us to have. GP

Our Wonderful Weapon

*"Can you imagine a soldier carefully putting on each piece of armor to protect himself and then going into battle without a weapon? That would be suicidal! While David could go up against Goliath without wearing Saul’s armor, he had to take his weapon! While the other pieces of armor that we have considered were necessary to protect the soldier from the enemy’s attacks, they could not kill the enemy. Only the sword could do that. [In this day, when there is a strong debate over gun control, and whether people should carry weapons in public, the Bible is clear about the weapon we should carry with us at all times.

In overcoming the attacks of Satan in the wilderness, Jesus used the Word of God in His defense. (Matthew 4:4) It has the ability to penetrate the hearts of people, and bring about a needed change in their lives. (Hebrews 4:12)

To live by the Word of God is our best defense, and for the future, our best security.] GP

Living & Leading By God's Principles

 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." (Colossians 3:16-17) 

It's amazing that cars today are equipped with navigational systems and screens to guide people in their travel. In the Christian life, when people go on their own instincts or thoughts, they end up disillusioned and very disappointed.

For us as Christians we must live by the principles of God's Word.
We must do as the Apostle Paul tells his readers in our text. "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly" It starts there. When we are constantly in God's Word, we can help lead others to a relationship with the Lord, that is such a blessing.

We can teach and admonishing one another by the Word of God, that helps us to be on the right track concerning the issues of our lives. When life becomes a fog, by the challenges of life, God's Word will be that Light to direct our lives, and the lives of others. GP
