The Joy Of The Lord Is Your Strength!
There are seasons in life when we pursue almost anything to find happiness, security, or a sense of stability. We chase accomplishments, possessions, routines, and even people, hoping they will hold us steady when life becomes difficult. Yet when our world begins to crumble, those very things we trusted often prove unable to sustain us.
Israel learned this lesson firsthand. After years of neglecting God’s law and drifting from His will, the people gathered as Ezra read the Scriptures aloud. As the truth washed over them, they realized how far they had wandered. Their hearts were pierced, and grief settled upon them. They wept because they finally saw the depth of their disobedience.
