Happy Mother's Day Mom!

"Listen to your father who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. Buy truth, and do not sell it; buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding. The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice; he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him. Let your father and mother be glad; let her who bore you rejoice." (Proverbs 23:22-25)

 No one can calculate the amount of excitement, and anticipation for the future, a couple has, when they first become parents. It is the greatest feeling in the world. They hope that their child will grow up, and really make them proud.
Of course we know that, that isn't always the case.

There are so many sad stories out there, of children who rebelled against their parents, and got involved in things that brought destruction and death.
With Satan wanting to destroy families, and all the other evil, negative influences out there, Christian parents, have their work cut out for them.

We still need to hold on to this advice, and promise: "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6) As Christian parents, that should be our goal, and our hope, as we trust the Lord to help us, in raising our children.

 I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers, especially to my mother who is in heaven now!

My Little Life (Happy Mother's Day Mom!)

[ I wrote this post in September of 2015. 

In July of 2019, my mother went  home to be with the Lord. I wanted to feature this post in honor of her. "I love you, and miss you mom! Happy Mother's Day!"] 

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." (Matthew 5:16) My mother wrote a line on her new Facebook page that gave me an idea for this post. Just three words: "My little life" I have to disagree with my mother on this line, because she has had a huge influence on my life. To me her life is not little. But this line made me think about how a lot people feel about their lives. They think that they have made little difference in this world. They get up in the morning, go to work, come home, and the next day, they start all over again. In the midst of this daily, weekly, routine, I don't think people realize how much of an influence they have on other people. Our lives are like a light that is started when we are born, and we shine every moment of our lives, in the midst of the lives of others. They see us, they hear our words, they see our actions, they observe what is important to us, and what isn't. The young people who are ours and theirs, see us as heroes they can look up to and emulate. Words of appreciation are not spoken everyday, but only on special days of recognition. But our efforts to shine our light is for one reason, and that is to glorify our Father in heaven. If by our lives, we can show the world we live in, how valuable He is, and that all that we need is found in Him, we will have accomplished much for the Kingdom of God.
