"For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him,.."
(Hebrews 2:2-3)
Are you easily distracted, or are you a very focused person?
When it comes to our Christian life, Satan our enemy, is hoping that we will be distracted from reading, and living out the truths of God's Word. He is especially happy, when people put off following through with the call of the Gospel, to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
The Hebrew writer describes our salvation as "a great salvation", and you can feel the urgency in his words. We cannot afford to be distracted from following through with accepting the greatest gift one could ever receive. The gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God's Word is faithful, and has the messages we need for this life, and beyond. We can be distracted, and preoccupied, by all the the things this world has to offer, and miss out on the greatest blessings that God has to offer.
The choice is ours. There is only one way to eternal peace and joy, when this life is done. As a line of a song says:
*"One thing right, one thing right,
I did one thing right, I chose Jesus Christ!"
Hallelujah night, when I saw the light,
I did one thing right, I chose Jesus Christ!"
Will you have your focus entirely on Him, and live? GP
