Time goes by, and before we know it, we have distanced ourselves to the point of being strangers. This can, and does happen in relationships all the time.
What is most tragic is when we distance ourselves from the Lord Jesus Christ. This one who has the deepest love, the most knowledge, the greatest power, and the brightest future in His hands, and yet we want nothing to do with Him. How can this be?
Do you know of anyone who would go and die on a cross, to take away the punishment for your sin? Do you know of anyone who has their attention on you one hundredth percent of the time? Do you know of anyone who can help you keep it all together, when your world is falling apart?
We do have people in our lives who have truly made a difference.
But their best efforts, cannot compare to the Lord Jesus Christ, once we've given Him a chance.
When is it too late to establish a solid relationship with our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ?
When we have lived our whole life in selfish disobedience to the will of God, and we stand before the Lord, and He says these terrible words that we will not want to hear: "I never knew you, depart from Me" (Matthew 7:23b) That's when, it will be too late! GP
