Fly Where Eagles Fly
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint." (Isaiah 40:31)
Bald Eagles are commonly reported by hang glider pilots in the Owens valley along the California/Nevada border to fly far above 15,000 feet. They will circle with hang gliders, sometimes flying only 10' off their wingtip. They will share the same rising thermal for many thousands of feet before the hang glider pilot or the Eagle leaves the thermal and flies on. (Kathy-Yahoo Answers)
The prophet Isaiah speaks on behalf of the Lord, and tells us, that we can fly above our trials, soar above our severe circumstances. In our spiritual lives, we can fly where eagles fly, and not become weary, and not become faint. Like the line of the song "The Wind Beneath My Wings" the Lord is the wind beneath our wings. He is the wisdom and strength that catches our spirit, and helps us to soar above the trial and turmoil below. You say: "This sounds like poetic promises, but you don't know what I am going through."" There is no way that God is going to cause me to soar over this crisis." "There will be no getting up from this one." So we will stick our head in the sand, and think that this will be the worst experience of our lives. There is an important word that the prophet uses, in telling us what the Lord wants us to do in times of difficulty. It is not the word "worry", but it is the word "wait". We are to "wait" in our time of meditation upon the Word of God. We are to "wait" in our time of prayer, as we fellowship with the Lord. Those who do this, will renew their strength, and yes, fly where eagles fly. As we wait, and put out our wings, there will be no trouble that will hold us down, when we catch the power of the Lord, and are lifted up, to soar to places we never thought we would go, in our spirit, and in our soul.
