I Still Miss Someone

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4) "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34:18) Please read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14.

A song that was written by Johnny Cash, and Roy Cash Jr. entitled:
"I Still Miss Someone" has been on my mind lately. "

"At my door the leaves are falling, A cold wild wind will come. Sweethearts walk by together And I still miss someone. I go out on a party And look for a little fun. But I find a darkened corner, 'Cause I still miss someone. Oh, no I never got over those blue eyes. I see them every where. I miss those arms that held me. When all the love was there. I wonder if she's sorry For leavin' what we'd begun. There's someone for me somewhere. And I still miss someone."

It is a song that talks about a man missing the woman he loves.
The circumstances of the why this one is missing the love of his life, is not mentioned. But the song reveals the brokenness of his heart.

There are many who are definitely missing someone. The many deaths caused by the Covid virus, has left many missing someone. Our hearts go out to those individuals, and families, who have lost loved ones to this terrible virus.

But as our Scripture text tells us, we can be comforted (Mt.5:4) knowing that the Lord is close to the brokenhearted (Ps.34:18) Paul writes in his letter to the Christians at Thessalonica, (1 Thess.4:13-14) that those who have gone on before us, will come with Jesus when He returns.
We are not a people without hope. We will see, and be with our loved ones again.

What we must do, is to have faith in God, and trust in His presence with us, and His provision for an eternal reunion with our loved ones.
For now, we do miss someone. But know this; that someone we will see again, because of the precious promise of God. through our Lord Jesus Christ, for all eternity. May God bless all who are in sorrow today! GP
