In 1991 Aaron Tippen recorded a song entitled "You've Got To Stand For Something" The main line of the song,
goes: "You've got to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything."
I ask us as Christians, what are we standing up for? Where is our voice, when our society is getting so far from the Word of God.
One thing that is urgent, and that is the need to speak out against the hatred, that is so prevalent in this Country. In homes, schools, government, organizations etc. there is so much hate that is expressed.
And yes, even in the church!
When Saul was chosen to be king of Israel, he didn't come out and make himself ready to accept the position. No he hid among the baggage. He was not confident, but very insecure. Is that the way we as the Lord's church is today? I would boldly say, Yes!
Our freedoms, our values, are being stripped away, and we are not voicing our concerns about it. We cannot just crawl in a corner of the world's baggage and hide. Wherever we are as Christians, in our corners of the world, we need to speak loudly concerning the will of God.
God is counting on us to do so.
As the Christian community, let us stand up for Jesus, stand up for the Bible, and stand up for the principles, this Nation was founded on.
