"All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need." (Acts 2:44-45)
One of the things I have seen in the midst of this pandemic is people helping those in need. I know we have seen the violence, much property damage in the midst of the protesting. But I have observed individuals, businesses, organizations, and churches reaching out to in this crisis.
My question is: Do we have to have a crisis to motivate the giving of ourselves
to others?
The early church made it a continual exercise of ministry to each other it the body of Christ. Whether it is food, money, time, a listening ear; if it is a constant pursuit, there will be a constant reaping of benefits from it.
In the church, take each other out to eat, have coffee together, call each other often. In essence: take care of each other. Our unity will be stronger because of these activities. We need to take care of each other, as God takes care of us. Not only in a crisis, but in every opportunity of our life together.
