"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is, For brethren to dwell together in unity." (Psalm 133:1)
Too often, when families, or members of various social clubs get together, it is not good experiences. Selfishness and arrogance show their ugly heads in such gatherings, and do their part to destroy the unity that is to be accomplished. There are the common goals and objectives, that are hindered because such attitudes are dominate. How wonderful, and how pleasant it is to look back on the times of gathering, and have it be such rewarding, and fulfilling experiences. There are those in a community who look forward to, not only the fellowship, but the partnership, and comradeship that various clubs or organizations provide. The key to success in obtaining unity in the family, the church, in social organizations, is to have the mind of Christ. Instead of pursuing His equality with God, He humbled Himself and became a servant. (Philippians 2:5-8) Like Jesus, we are to look at ourselves as being servants to one another. To answer the question: How can I make a difference in the lives of those I have joined with, as we together, contribute to the common cause. We do not have to all agree, but we must have a mutual concern and respect for each other. If that is demonstrated, and is felt, among the members, it will truly help to maintain unity, and will go a long way in accomplishing the common good. (GP)
