"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due."
(Romans 1:26-27)
How can he make this statement: "How can you have the word "Christian" and the word "homosexual" in the same sentence?"
Some will say, he is being discriminatory, arrogant, downright hateful.
I do not hate those who are involved in a homosexual lifestyle. But like God, I do hate the sin.
The word the Apostle Paul brought out in our text is the word "shameful." This sinful act that society has embraced, and is making a religion out of, is a violation of the order of God, for man-kind. (Genesis 2:24)
If we as Christians are to follow the Bible as our guide, the homosexual union cannot be a Christian union. One who holds to the homosexual lifestyle, at the same time, cannot profess a Christian lifestyle. Why? Because it is against the Word (and) will of God. If you read Romans 1 the Apostle Paul makes it very clear, what God's thinking is concerning this sinful lifestyle.
But love must be shown, and the truth of God's Word must be shared.
As Christians, our role is not to pass judgment, but to exercise the grace of God, so that there will be forgiveness, and healing.
A hand reached up towards God, and a hand reached down to those caught in this degrading, and destructive lifestyle of sin. GP
