How easy is it to become distracted?
A deadly distraction is when people try to talk on their cell phones, while driving.
I have been guilty of this one, how about you?
I believe that the church of Christ today is very distracted. In some faith groups, the issue of "social justice" has become very controversial, and divisive. Yes, we are to reach out to those who are hurting in our society. No doubt we are to do as Jesus did in Matthew 4:23.
He taught, and healed people of all kinds of sickness and disease.
But the primary focus of the church is to live and teach the Word of God. The Psalmist puts it plainly, that "The entrance of Your words (God's Word) gives light; it gives understanding to the simple."
The greatest need of our society today, is for people to receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives. Living without Jesus in one's life, will have both present and eternal consequences. Without Jesus, there is no wisdom, peace, joy, or hope. But yet Satan, our enemy tries to distract us from bringing to people these blessings that come from having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
We can be distracted in a lot of ways. But let's strive to never be distracted in bringing God's Word to the hearts of people. It is, and will always be, the greatest work we as Christians will ever do! GP
