WASHINGTON — New federal rules on school bathrooms are designed to protect transgender students from bullying, President Obama said Monday. "Anybody who has been in school, in high school, who has been a parent should realize that kids who are sometimes in the minority — kids who have a different sexual orientation or are transgender — are subject to a lot of bullying, potentially," Obama told the web site Buzzfeed Monday. After reading this, I asked myself this question: As a society, do we really know who we are? From the time we are born, we know what gender we are. To redefine our feelings about it, or to go to extreme measures to change it, is going against the will of God for us, as individuals, and for us as a society.
And as far as our young people, we as parents need to help our children to be proud of how God created them, and direct them in realizing what God's purpose is for their lives.
As our text says, we are created in the image of God. We are either male or female, and we are to follow through with His will for our lives. Not just in this, but in everything, it seems that we are making it more about ourselves, than about what God wants for us. And God wants us to be true to Him, ourselves, and to others.
I know there may be a lot of disagreement with what I am writing today.
But I believe someday, we will have to answer to God, for not being true to His plan for our lives. GP
