Putting On The New Man In Christ.
Ephesians 4:20-24
"But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness."
Our Pastor, Pastor Edgar Rodriguez, has been leading us in a sermon series entitled "The Bigger Story." This last Sunday he had an excellent sermon on how we are to more than just say we are Christians, but we are to BE Christians. In putting on the new man in Christ, we are to live the life in Christ. We are to put off the old man of our former conduct of deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of our minds, and put on the new man in Christ, in true righteousness and holiness.
I remember a song that was written and recorded by Steven Curtis Chapman entitled: "It's Got To Be True" Our life in Christ is to be true and sincere. The apostle Paul encouraged the Christians at Ephesus, and we as Christians today, to not "just talk the talk, but walk the walk." Through commitment, determination, and discipline on our part, we can accomplish this in our Christian walk.
