"...Truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. And these things we write to you that your joy may be full." (1 John 1:3b-4)
I spent a great deal of time with my father on the farm. We did chores together, we worked together in those hot summer days, harvesting our hay crop. I remember through the years, after I had left home, every three weeks, he would call me, to see how I was doing. Now that my father has gone home to heaven, I miss those phone calls.
Over and over we say that to be in fellowship with our heavenly father, we are to be in His Word, and in prayer. Many will say, "I don't have time to do that, it requires too much! My question is: "Why do we have to make it so complicated?" Take your Bible with you to work, or to the various activities you are involved in. When you get time, Just read a few verses, and take time to say a short prayer of thanksgiving; and if need be, a short prayer of petition, for the burdens you are bearing in your life.
God has all of eternity for us, so we need to take advantage of this precious time of fellowship with Him. He is the one who loves us more than anyone in our lives. To not have time to spend with our Heavenly Father, to me is a huge cop-out.
It becomes complicated when we allow all the distractions to rob us of the most wonderful experiences we could have, with our awesome Heavenly Father. We make time for the things that are important to us. What can be more important than this? GP
