"Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." (Matthew 25:40) We need to talk about the church losing its grip on its purpose. We cannot be like a firehouse where they are just polishing the truck, we need to be putting out fires. No matter what it takes to get the work of ministry done, we need to to do it. If it takes money, time, talent, we need to give it all we have. What is disturbing to me is, to hear of churches closing because the members could not get along, and could not unite together to accomplish God's purpose for them. We should all be of the same mind, and that is the mind of Christ. In Matthew 25:33-40 we see how Jesus felt about ministry. When we look at His life, and teaching, we see how important it was. "Now Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of diseases among the people." (Mathew 4:23) This along with going to the cross for the world is what Jesus was about. As Christians, is this what we are about? The whole theme of Jesus life here on earth was "Ministry" If we as a church lose site of that, then what have we become? I would say, nothing more than a social club, existing just for ourselves. I don't think that is what the Lord Jesus had in mind! GP Inspired by my mother.
