We call the time from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday, the Passion week (or Holy Week) The most crucial week in all of time. The journey to the cross and to the tomb is coming to a climax.
What John wrote in our text, describes the feeling that Jesus had toward His disciples, as He made preparation to depart from this life.
If passion is the word to describe How Jesus felt, than indeed, it was much passion. But the question comes to us. How much passion do we have towards our Lord and Savior?
This passion that Jesus felt towards His disciples (that includes us) was not just during this week, but from the foundation of the world (Eph 1:4) Our passion for Christ, should be constant. Our passion should motivate us to be as the Apostle Paul said:.."steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord." (1 Cor.15:58)
How much do we love Jesus? How deep is our passion for Him?
