As in many things, hard work pays fulfilling dividends. It is great satisfaction to look back at what you have been working on, and see the progress you have made.
Can we say that about our Christian lives? Because without a doubt, it takes hard work, to get to that level of spiritual maturity God wants us to achieve. As I have said before, the Christian life is a life of discipline, and hard work.
The gifts that the apostle Paul mentions at the end of 1 Corinthians 13, are faith, hope, and love. They are not just precious remaining gifts to execute, but they are marks of spiritual maturity. Just where are you in your maturity in these areas?
The working to have an intimate, strong relationship with the Lord, takes time in prayer, and study of the Word of God. In the time of life's challenges, we work to learn and apply God's truths, to our situations.
We roll up our sleeves, and work to accomplish God's will, in every area of our lives. The Christian life is not the place for the "slack hand", but it is the place for the "diligent." And rich in God's blessings, we will be! GP
