This world does not give us the assurance of a lasting joy. We may have joy for a season, but when trials hit us, that joy disappears like a vapor.
But there is a joy that is an everlasting joy. It is a feeling of happiness and peace, that stays with us, no matter what problems or trials we are going through. It is our "Joy in Jesus" It is the joy that He gives us. Because of the blessings we find in Him.
The Apostle Paul summarized it well in Ephesians 1:7 "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."
In Jesus we have salvation. In Jesus (Our Good Shepherd) we have provision and protection.
Even if we leave this life, we have His eternal presence. We can walk through this life with confidence and peace, because of all that we have in Him. That brings about a constant joy.
I know that as an anxious soul like myself, it is hard to abide in Him. it shouldn't, but it does!
Trials can cause one to stick their head in the sand, and hide from the mountain of trials. But when one determines to stand in the grace of God, through Jesus Christ, our fear dissipates, and peace and joy come to dwell! You can't beat, this kind of joy! GP
