Making Right Decisions

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Have you ever made a bad decision? All of us at one time or another have made bad decisions.
How can we know what is the right thing to do?

The Scripture verses in our text tells us not to lean on our own understanding. I have failed to do that more times than I want to think about. But it is true, to lean on our own limited understanding is asking for trouble.

But if we trust the Lord with all of our heart, and acknowledge that He is the one who has the answers, our paths will be straight, and we will be at peace.

It is important before we make any decision to pray, and place it in God's hands. It is good, to get a second opinion. God may be able to use someone to give you the right perspective on the issue.

When we make a bad decision, it is not good to dwell in self-pity, and fall into deep despair. When you fall off a horse, its better to get back on, learn from your mistakes, and move on.

It is never a good thing to jump to conclusion, or jump into making decisions. We need to take time to pray and ask God to direct us.
And He will faithfully do this, if only we will give Him a chance! GP
