Jesus said: “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)
Why is the road to heaven and eternal peace and joy difficult to travel? The reason is that it takes faith, and commitment, and discipline.
The way that is wide and broad is the way of thoughtlessness and carelessness. A way that involves selfishness and sinful living.
The giving in to our passions and pleasures is an easy walk, but a terrible destination.
In 2016 you have an opportunity to make a choice. Are you happy with the direction your life is going? Even though the way that leads to life abundantly and eternally is difficult, it is certainly worth the effort.
The destination is worth it.
But you have to make not only a choice, but a commitment.
Jesus said in John 14:6 "...I am the Way the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
I don't know about all roads leading home, but I do know one that does. Will you take it? GP
