"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust." (Psalm 91:1-2)
I have made this comparison from the pulpit that Psalm 91:1 is our spiritual 911 number. We call this number when we want to report an emergency.
This Scripture reminds us that there is a secret place where we can go and place ourselves under the spiritual care of the Lord. He is our refuge, and fortress, and in Him we can trust, because God is faithful. I am very thankful for the police, the fire departments, the medical people who are available to care for us when we get into trouble, or become ill. They are highly trained to deal with any need that comes their way. Even though, it costs a lot for their services, what would we do without them? I believe that God has provided them, and the modern technology to provide the treatments and care that are necessary. The truth is, that God cares for us, through these people. I know that in different parts of the world, these people and services are not available. But God works through people that are there, and through them does the best He can. We can depend upon God. We can place ourselves under the wings of His care. That time alone with Him is a secret place to the world. It is a place of peace, and spiritual refreshment. We can go there to get our spiritual batteries recharged. Let's always remember that, when the world lets us down, God never will. He cares deeply for us! GP
