"But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." (James 1:4) In my life, it seems that the work of patience is not a perfect work. The reason it is not perfect, is because I am not very cooperative when it comes to exercising patience. I am like the lady that came into a grocery store and asked: "if they had anything faster than instant." It is hard to wait, especially when the trials are severe, and you wonder if you can take another step, or stand anymore pain. But there is a wonderful opportunity while we wait for our deliverance. That opportunity is the fellowship we can have with the Lord Jesus Christ, while we wait. Jesus tells us to
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”(Matthew 11:28-30) While we wait for a resolution, we can take advantage of a precious time of prayer, sharing with the Lord the burdens we are bearing, and embracing the peace that comes from allowing Him to help us carry the load. Through prayer, and Bible study, we can find the encouragement to endure the time of waiting for things to work out in our lives. The Lord is not just our deliverer, He is our sustainer as well. GP
