There was no doubt that the apostles and the early Christians, with the spark from heaven (The Holy Spirit) and the "boldness" they exhibited, helped in turning the world upside down for Jesus Christ, in those early days of the Church.
But today, when I hear of division in the church, declining attendance, churches even closing, I question if we are in touch with the Holy Spirit like we should be. We have allowed so many petty things to divide us, and gradually destroy us.
With so many people in our nation, and all over the world, who have not accepted Christ as Savior and Lord, why is it, that instead of boldness there is fear and apathy. Jesus promises His disciples, and us, that power would be available to do the work that He has called us to do. How important is it to plug into that power through the study of God's Word, prayer, and fellowship with fellow Christians? When it came for the Lord to save us on the cross, He was completely faithful. When it comes for us to be witnesses unto Him in this world, where are we? GP
