"Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape." (1 Thessalonians 5:1-3) You can talk about the various theological theories on the "second coming of Christ" but what it comes down to, is our preparation for when He does return. Will He find us prepared to meet Him when He returns? So while we sit around and talk about the
"when" there are many, many, people who have not even considered the question of
"how" they can be saved? and ready to meet Jesus when He returns.
It is true that the book of Revelation is a view of future events. We may not understand all of the symbolism contained in the Apostle John's vision concerning future events. But one thing is clear: Jesus is returning, at time unknown. As the Apostle Paul says in our text,
