We may be able to think of reasons why we should become a Christian. And yes, some will think of reasons not to.
I don't feel we like to think of ourselves as sinners. We say to ourselves:
"Why, I'm a good person, I'm not an alcoholic or a drug addict. I don't treat people badly. I even go to church, and put money in the offering plate.
If I'm not a bad person, than how can I be a sinner?"
No matter how good we think we are, we will never be good enough to satisfy God's position concerning sin. We all have had bad thoughts that have come to mind. We all have acted selfishly at one time or another. The fact is, no one is perfect except God's Son. And when we accept Him as our Savior, we take off our filthy rags of sin, and put on His garment of righteousness.
Why become a Christian? Because God loves us, and wants us to have our soul cleansed by the blood of His Son. Instead of standing before Him with the spiritual death penalty hanging over our head, He wants us to hold in our hands the free gift of eternal life with Him. God as the judge of the world, will punish sin. If we tie ourselves to it, we will perish with it. Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, and be free from your sin debt forever. GP
